Matthew Howard-Cairns


Matthew Howard-Cairns is a Principal at Blackstone, based in London, where he leads European Asset Management for the firm’s Tactical Opportunities business. Since joining Blackstone in 2015, he has been involved in the execution and monitoring of a number of the firm’s investments.

Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Howard-Cairns was a Senior Manager in the Financial Decisions and Analysis team within the Transaction Services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. At PwC, he specialised in delivering value-accretive programmes at private equity portfolio companies globally and has experience across a broad spectrum of industries.

Mr. Howard-Cairns graduated from the University of Durham with a BA in Economics and Politics and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. Mr. Howard-Cairns currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Kensington Mortgages, Viva Capital and CPBM Finance. He joined the Lombard International Board of Directors in October 2020.
